Steve Fuller

Position: Agricultural Policy Advisor, Washington State Department of Agriculture

Biography: As a policy advisor to the Director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture, Steve works on legislation and policy decisions impacting the state’s food system, plant protection, and cannabis. Before moving to the Director’s Office, he built the agency’s food emergency response team, improving the way the agency manages food safety incidents. Steve has previously worked for the Washington State Department of Health training the state’s retail food safety inspectors and providing technical advice on advanced food safety regulatory issues. Steve was once the campus health inspector at UCLA and multiple county health departments in California. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health from California State University, Fresno. He used to have hobbies, but now he has four kids and a dog instead.
